Shawn Mecklinger, B.A., A.I.M.A
President - Director of Business Development
Shawn is a founding partner in Kilbarry Hill. After spending three years as a property management consultant with both Bayview Summit Developments and Wycliffe Property Management, two companies with over 40 years of excellence in the real estate and development industry, Shawn brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity in both the construction and real estate field. As a consultant Shawn oversaw commercial, industrial, and residential projects including the development of a free standing Tim Hortons drive thru restaurant at the Shops on Steeles and The 404. He was also responsible for the management of 500 townhouse and apartment units. Shawn currently holds the designation of associate with the Institute of Municipal Assessors of Ontario. With this background Shawn possesses the ability to foresee undervalued properties for their full potential. As such Shawn directs property acquisitions and sales for Kilbarry Hill.
Shawn is also actively involved in many charitable organizations. Shawn is a member of the Jewish National Fund's "New Leadership Organization", as well as being a member of the board of Mt Sinai Hospital's Leadership Sinai. Shawn is also a lead supporter of the Canadian Jewish Media Foundation's production of, "Jews in Baseball: an American Love Story."
Shawn has a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from The University of Western Ontario. Shawn also has a Diploma Certificate in Real Estate Finance from The University of British Columbia.
Jordan Mecklinger, B.A. Hons.
Vice President - Director of Operations
Jordan is a founding partner in Kilbarry Hill. After spending one year as assistant property manager and consultant with Cedar Hill Developments and summers working as a land surveyor with Schaeffers Consulting Engineers, Jordan brings a wealth of knowledge to this position. As a land surveyor Jordan assisted in the layout and grading of roads, sewer systems and house lots throughout forty major residential subdivisions across the Greater Toronto Area. Jordan's role at Cedar Hill as an assistant property manager included tenant relations, leasing assistance, project design, and property maintenance coordination.
Jordan's charitable involvements include being a participant in, "The Run for the Cure", also known as the Terry Fox Run. Jordan has also been a participant in the Princess Margret Hospital's, "Ride to Conquer Cancer."
Jordan has an Honors Degree in Urban Development from The University of Western Ontario. With his knowledge in land use planning and real estate finance, Jordan can provide valuable project management, in order to maintain an on time schedule and provide quality craftsmanship for each residential project.
Dave Mecklinger, B.A.
Vice President - Director of Site Operations
Dave is a founding partner in Kilbarry Hill. After spending time with Brixton Commercial Real Estate Corporation as a Business Development Associate, he has joined Kilbarry Hill as the Vice President, Director of Site Operations.
During his time at Brixton, Dave accomplished a variety of different tasks, which included designing and distributing flyers for several commercial and industrial buildings, investigating vacant properties suitable for development, and research and analysis using different real estate tools such as Toronto MLS and Marshnet.
Dave has a Bachelors Degree in Globalization from the University of Western Ontario.
Jerry Mamid, B.A., L.L.B., B.Ed.
Managing Director
In his capacity as Managing Director of Kilbarry Hill, Mr. Mamid brings extensive experience as a lawyer, entrepreneur and educator to the team. As a lawyer, Jerry represented many developers in all phases of construction. He oversaw many projects from the early planning stages through final approval. As an entrepreneur he was President and major shareholder of American Pant International, a clothing manufacturer and importer. As well, he successfully participated in many retail ventures. Most recently, he has taught music and social science at the high school level for the Toronto District School Board and Toronto Independent High School. Owing to his eclectic background, Jerry brings many talents to the table.
Jerry has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Toronto, an L.L.B from Osgoode Hall and a Bachelor of Education from York University.
Dean Langman
Site Superintendant
Dean has recently joined Kilbarry Hill Construction as Site Superintendant. Prior to joining Kilbarry, Dean began his career in the log home industry. From there, Dean operated his own custom home business for twelve years. Continuing with his expertise in the field, Dean joined ServiceMaster as a site super and cost estimator. He also oversaw the construction of over fifty townhome units in the greater Collingwood area for the Sierra Group, and a thirty-nine custom home project for the Titan group.
Kevin McNabb
Tradesman
Kevin (Bogie) has recently joined our team at Kilbarry Hill Construction as a Tradesman/Carpenter. Kevin is a highly skilled carpenter, who started his woodworking career at an early age. At the age of 16 years old, Kevin placed second in a Canada wide carpentry contest hosted by Stanley Tools and Canadian Workshop Magazine. He has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years, focusing mostly on finish carpentry. From early 1990, he worked for New Dimensions Construction, where his employment took him abroad to Yellowknife, Edmonton, Ottawa and Fort Smith. Across the country, Kevin worked on military housing for the National Defense of Canada. Most recently, he has been involved in construction of homes and townhomes for the Sierra and Titan Groups.
Kevin takes pride in everything he does and is a valuable asset to our company.
Dale Merkley
Tradesman
Dale is a highly skilled individual and a welcome addition to Kilbarry Hill. Dale has worked in the construction industry for the last twenty years. After finishing courses in construction supervision, Dale began his career as a foreman for Cowden/Woods Design Build. For six years, Dale oversaw several residential, commercial and industrial projects. After his stay with Cowden/Woods, Dale moved to Calgary to begin his role as a framing supervisor for the Giusti Bros. After moving back to Ontario, Dale continued in the industry, using his expertise to run his own framing company. Dale specialized in framing and machine operating, overseeing many custom home projects from the initial drawing stage, to the finished product.
Dale is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys spending time hunting and fishing.
Glenn Patterson
Tradesman
Glenn joined Kilbarry Hill Construction Limited as a tradesman in January 2009. Highlights of Glen's career in working for three years as a trim carpenter for Imperial Trim and Supply Inc. Before working for Imperial, Glenn worked for two years with Titan Construction.
Glenn received his Diploma Certificate in Construction Engineering as a Technician Supervisor from Fanshawe College. Glenn has also received his certificate in Construction Carpentry Techniques. Glenn is an enthousiastic individual with interests in hockey, fishing and baseball.
Jeff Rawn
Tradesman
Jeff has recently joined Kilbarry Hill Construction as a tradesman. Jeff has had many years' experience as a trade in the industry. Highlights of Jeff's career include working as a custom carpenter for French's carpentry and as a tradesman for Titan Construction. Jeff is a highly motivated individual and a valuable asset to our team.
Joshua Russell
Tradesman
Joshua joined Kilbarry Hill Construction in January 2010. For the past two years, Joshua worked in the custom home building industry, specializing in basic welding, heavy equipment operation, concrete cutting and coring. Joshua also has licenses in fall arrest and elevating platforms. Prior to getting into the construction industry, Joshua worked at a water purification plant in Oakville, Ontario.
Joshua is a graduate of Georgian College.
Kailee Mecklinger B.A. A.R.I.D.O.
Interior Design Consultant
Kailee is a highly motivated, creative, and efficient interior design consultant. Her skills in space planning, drafting (free hand, AutoCAD and Architectural desktop,) lighting techniques, colour selection, architectural detailing, and sample board creations, provide Killbarry Hill with the interior design structure for each project. Kailee founded K Squared Design in 2004 and has worked on various residential and commercial projects. Furthermore, Kailee has interned for several design firms across the Greater Toronto Area and the United States. Her excellent visual perception is a valuable asset to our team.
Kailee received her Bachelors Degree in Sociology from The University of Western Ontario. She also completed a two-year interior design program at the International Academy of Design and Technology of Toronto.
