Our bad luck was to have our finished basement flooded twice in quick succession. Our good luck was to have found Kilbarry. We had estimates from other companies but no one could offer us the quality of materials, the workmanship skills or attention to detail that Kilbarry Hill provided.

Jordy kept a watchful eye on ensuring that every part of the contract was completed. In fact the job was finished ahead of schedule. Dean and Jeff were a great team. They were most considerate about everything that we had been through and caused as little inconvenience as possible.

Re: a Back alley building brawl, Nov. 24

I appreciated and yet was dismayed at the article about Jordan and Shawn Mecklinger and their difficulties in building the housing on Croft St. As a resident near Christie and Bloor Sts, I see this as exactly the kind of project our city needs. I am flummoxed to understand why the local residents were so disturbed by this project and cannot fathom why the city would not provide more support.

To me, these two young men are somewhat like knights in shining armour, helping the city to fulfil its own plan of urban density and yet they faced opposition from every side. How discouraging! And how sad for those of us who wish to see a vibrant, residential downtown core!

I would love to hear more about how this project goes, and about other small developers who are trying to make a difference.

Jordan and Shawn-don't give up! Some of us have a vision for this city and we support you!
